Mend McCulloch 240 Strimmer Petrol Engine

Petrol/oil mixture for a McCullock 240 strimmer?

The filler cap says 40:1 petrol/oil ratio but the local supplier insists that 25:1 is much better for engine life. Who is correct?

40:1 all the way had my mt 270 for years on this and no problems.

Stick with the 40:1, adding extra oil will weaken the fuel mixture, and could end up damaging the engine. The engine manufacturer is happy with 40:1 why risk invalidating your warranty.
