Mine has the same problem (for the second time - it's already been repaired once). I rang up the repair company who said it was "a fault", but wouldn't be pinned down as to where the problem lay. The good news is that there is a two year guarantee on these coffee makers - which since they are a newish machine means that yours may well be still under guarantee.
