Mend Craftsman 917.387620 Lawn Mower Engine Repair

how can I fix my craftsman rotory lawn mower?

I have a craftsman 6.0 HP rotory lawn mower model # 917.387620. It will start but not then stops after a few seconds. The engine will run longer if the primer is continuely pumped. The old gas was replaced with fresh gas and the filter is clean. When the lawn mower was still under warranty it had this same problem. When I took it back to Sears they replaced a part. I cannot find the receit and do not remember the parts name.

i can't find an electric clutch for my craftsman 2 18 hp sears told me that they don't make them anymore do you know if i can use a clutch from a different brand

There is an adjustment screw on the carburetor. It is either on the bottom of the float bowl or on the side of the carburetor. turn the screw a half a turn at a time, until the mower runs. The engine is not getting enough gas, and you are forcing gas into it when you push the primer.
