can't get the dishwasher to empty the dirty water?

I have a kenmore super deluxe serial 665157656591 dishwasher that wont empty??? any trouble shooting hints

first of all you need to try and get rid of the water then take the dirty water pipe at the back (gray with u bend in it) which lets dirty water enter the drain. now you have to be quick with this bit!! blow hard in to it then stick it in a bucket or back in the waste pipe. if that dont work check the fillters in the unit for blockages
