pump problem aeg 88730 update?

I have an AEG 88730 update.the pump appears not to be operating,half way thru cycle (full of water)m/c displayed C2 fault-after draining m/c , flooding kitchen etc (emergency drain pipe apeared to be partly blocked) I cleaned out the filter but this made no diffrence , When you put the machine into drain mode (one minute programe). You cannot hear any noise and the machine does not drain. At the end of the one minute program the machine acts as if it had carried out the alloted task,with no fault code showing.
How do we get at the pump? which is at the front of the machine?
I would be grateful for any help on this.
