light problem on Renault Megane Scenic?

I got a renault megane scenic 1998 2liter revers lights don't work I took left front wheel off I can see the switch bud there is no wire going on the switch how can I fix it and in car roof lights don't work and the front light goes on if brake or clucth is push in

l/h rear light tail/brake. tail light will not work but the brake light is ok bulb ok.

On The Megane scenic and rx4 to test the reverse switch.
no reversing lights:
Start the Engine, test the rear wiper, if it works ok on its own
turn off the rear wiper and main wipers, check they are off, turn off the engine to reset the relay.
re-start the Engine, turn on the main wipers only.
Now select reverse, the rear wiper should start automaticly and wipe the window once, if it does not and your reversing lights do not work then it is the switch needs replacing.
it is screwed in the gear box
If the rear wiper does work, check both fuse boxes, cockpit and under bonet. if all are ok, then it may mean the wiring has been overloaded by cig lighter plugs and will need re-routing on the fuse box to another live line.
this may be accompanied by lights out on the top radio panel, temp ect.
fit a jumper wire from a 30 amp line to the reverse lights fuse line on the back of the box with a 10 amp fuse soldered in line and insulating taped up.

IF YOU no that the lights are working ok and they come on when you move the lever in a certain place its possable the reverse switch is faulty which is fited into the gearbox, easy way to check is ignition on disconect the switch and bridge the two wires together to make a circuit,and if the lights come on the switch is faulty, hope this helps.
