how do i replace the power cord on a panasonic mce468 vacuum cleaner?

To access the terminals, stand the cleaner upright and remove the screw at the rear base of the handle. The handle will slide horizontally to the rear - it may be stiff. Remove the 2 screws behind the top of the dustbag and lift the cover off. (When refitting note the lip at the top of the cover). Temporarily tape the indicator device, otherwise it will spring off if disturbed.
The switch and capacitor terminals are all crimped. If you don't want to recrimp, I suggest cutting the old wires at the entry hole and connecting to the new wires with a small terminal block which will fit into the left hand recess. Fitting tie wraps tightly to the cable on both sides of the entry hole will hold the cable safely. Ensure that no wires are trapped when refitting the covers.
