how to reset epson stylus colour 880?

I have had the same initial problem. It was suggested that there may be a blockage of paper or similar but I could find nothing. I contacted Epson who said if there is no foreign object inside I should contact a service agent for a service.
They also offered me an equivalent unit for £117.
I have tried the above solution with success after 2 or 3 attempts. I am most grateful to oldun for the above.
I'm also an oldun!
I have still to investigate replacement of the waste ink pad

Hold down paper & ink buttons whilst switching ON printer.
When paper light starts to flash release both buttons.
Hold down ink button until paper indicator light stops flashing.
This may take more than one attempt.
Waste inkpad should also be replaced as leakage may happen.
