Mend Peugeot 406 Access Control Unit

access to radio screen using remote control unit?

Peugeot 406 2003 sn + ac
While accessing the radio/sat nav screen to adjust for summer time using the remote control provided, I changed some digits but in validation my change etc, I appear to have locked myself out of the unit. Now the unit can no longer be accessed by the remote control amnd my display is flashing ?I have tried disconnecting the battery and in order to reset the syatem but to no avail. This unit does not have a code, but anti theft is inherrentlly built into the system . Can anybody offer a solution without me having to submit the car to a dealer for a diagnostic reset ??? Having exhausted all options I was finally able to pinpoint the problem to the remote control unit by getting another car owner with satnav to try his remote on my car and it worked. Peugeot quoted me €240 for a replacement remote control which of course was prohibitive. I dismantled my remote control and after exhaustive tests discovered that one of the spring loaded buttons was stuck in the depressed position thus prohibiting any further use of the unit and at the same time consuming battery power.A small spray of WD40 and continuous pressing soon released this button and now everything is operating fine.
