Mend Pfaff 2170

formats for pfaff 2170?

I have a pfaff 2170 (just bought) and am confused about the formats. it sais it prefers vp3 when loading the software but an embroidery disc I bought is using vip and some are in pcs. Must all embroidery discs I buy or download be in vp3 or will the machine accept vip and pcs I would be very grateful if anyone could explain this to me in simple english as i am not familiar with computer jargon yet. If you have 3D or 4D software you should be able to read most any format. You have to open the software program first and make sure you have the dongle in your computer. Then from the file menu at the top of the software page, you should be able to open any picture(file) on the CD. Hope this helps.
