Mend Bernina 830 Still Lid Open

Still can't get the bernina lid open?

Still can't get the darn lid on Bernina 830 open. I don't really want to pry it with a screwdriver. There is no catch on the inside. My husband who can normally pry anything loose can't get it open. It does not budge.
Any way to pry without gauging or scratching the paint? Thanks

I think the only way now will be a bit of force but you will have to be very careful, it is probably stuck in the hinge area.
