electrical failure car wont start?

my car wont start and there is no sign of life in car could the engine imobilizer have tripped out

I don't think that an immobiliser would shut absolutely everything down - there should be signs of life somewhere. Check all the battery connections for tightness, also do the same for the main body one....depending on what car it is, there could be some large capacity fuses very close to the positive battery terminal, so check those.
