Thanks John, wen u say mixture too weak, do you mean air to petrol and need 2 adjust the mixture screw, wood that b 1 and half turns out wen srewd fully in... dont understand y air bubbles seen in petrol pipe from tank to carb, is that the reason for adjusting the mixture screw....sorry to bover u like this....regards...andrew

OK Andrew and thanks for the reply. See if you can 'catch' the motor by using the choke next time it seems to want to stall - if so then the mixture is a little weak. I'd avoid using any sort of gasket sealant material, but by all means replace any gaskets if you think they need it. I think these small 2 stroke motors have a rather limited reliable life though, and I certainly wouldn't splash out on a new carb!

Flymo maxi trim super (petrol|)I said 'spark at plug, on/off switch working, engine not seized, petrol cumming through from tank, jets blown through.....unsure wether petrol going to chamber as no sparkplug not wet with petrol....do I need a new carburettor'
You said 'First start of the season? Pour some neat fuel through the plug hole, see if the machine fires up. Maybe you're not cranking it long enough, choke closed'?
