WATER OVERFILLING?

HAVE A MAYTAG TOP LOADER FAV6800AW THAT STARTED FILLING AGAIN WHEN THE CYCLE ENDED EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR LOCK OPENED AND THE LID WAS OPEN. COULD IT BE ANYTHING BESIDES THE ELECTRONICS?

If you are saying that the machine was switched off, in between wash cycles then it sounds like a leaky valve. Strip valve and see if any grit keeping it open, or a split in the diaphragm.
