How do i get pressure in my Vokera Compact HE?

Hi,

I bled my radiators today and the pressure in my Vokera Compact HE boiler has gone down to zero. I've followed the instructions and some old posts but just can't get the pressure back up. There's a flexible metal pipe with a pressure gauge on it, water is running through there as i've undid one of the joints slightly to check. It seems to be going into the return pipe, but the pressure isn't building. I don't seem to have any blue or red tap to just turn and let water in which has been mentioned on other posts.

Thanks!

Thanks guys, i finally found it. The pressure guage which is on the flexible hose is actually how much pressure it is letting in from the mains to the flexible hose. I only saw when i started unscrewing things that it had a little screw on top saying + and - bar. It was impossible to see as it was normally so glad i had more of a fiddle!

I've spoken to Vokera, they say that on the Compact HE that the small black switch that you move to let the water in and build the pressure back up can be somewhere other than on the boiler, can be on a pipe somewhere. Trying to find it without any luck so far

Check the condense drain pipe, should be grey flexible hose to the right hand side, pull it off and make sure there is no water running through this when the boiler is cold and when topping up. If there is water then condense heat ex burst! and will require replacing, would imagine this is covered by Vokera warranty if boiler fairly new.

Have you checked the overflow pipe isn't dribbling(pipe outside the property),ie the water has to be going somewhere. This would mean your pressure relief valve needs replacing.Very real possibility your gauge is faulty, you could be raising pressure to the point where pressure relief valve is discharging the water(normally at 3 bar pressure),but you wouldnt now because the gauge isn't moving),on the net today(apart from changing oil/filter on car)so fel free to ask any questions)

Hi Graeme,

I've waited all night and the pressure hasn't built up. To describe it more fully to you -

There's a cold water input pipe which goes off to the loop and also up into the boiler. The one going up into the boiler has a stopcock on it. I've tried with this open and closed. On the loop where the flexible hose is, there's a screw which seems fully open on the joint. Then comes the pressure gauge, it's showing just above 0 bar. Then the flexible pipe is connected and water seems to be going through the far end. I've checked all of the radiators and there's no leak.

If your pressures really low it will take a while before the needle moves on the pressure gauge, try again and wait a bit loger, let me know how you get on,Graeme
