Why wont Mozilla Firefox work on my PC?

I have downloaded Mozilla but it only displays error message. I have tried shuting off the Firewall but this hasnt worked either. I read somewhere that I need to use a proxy server but Im not very technical. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a similar problem. Firefox no longer works. I installed & uninstalled 3 different firewalls which stopped Firefox from working. When I uninstall them it works again. Now I am using IE6 (even though I prefer Firefox) because IE is working and I need firewall protection. Any suggestions to fix this?

It would help if you say what the error message is.

Proxy servers have nothing to do with installing a browser. I've installed firefox many many times without a failure.

BTW Firefox isn't hardware. Trey you new question with lot more information in the Internet section.

i successfully downloaded the mozilla firefox and when im trying to use it, its not working...no response at all. i hope you can help me with this one...thanks!
