My boiler has been giving me problems for a while now, switches off and gives error code 01, I found by running the hot water I was able to re ignite it and all was well, but it would go out at the same time every single night. On Tuesday the boiler switched off giving error code 01 and now will reignite for 5 seconds before switiching off and giving error code 01. I cannot get this to ignite now no matter what. Has anyone got any ideas what it might be. I have no heating or hot water and am worried a plumber is going to cost me a fortune.
It turns out it was a small valve in the pump. I had this replaced and a service and it cost £75, bargain. So if this happens to anyone else don't replace the pump at a cost of £150 for the part, as I guess some workmen may try and replace the whole lot when it isn't necessary

Lynne, This error code means the boiler has not established a stable flame, it sounds like you need a Corgi engineer to investigate (rather than a plumber) as the boiler will need to be opened up to investigate. Good luck with it!
