my 52 plate combo van speedo has stopped working but there does not seem to be a speedo cable any idea how i fix it

hello steve cole, iv got an old vaxhall combo van P 1996 an my speedo has just packed up, too dark to investigate but hope its an easy fix, i would check fuses 1st if fuses ok then id seek help.
