Mend Rover 216 Problem Bought Reg

Rover 216 cabriolet starting problem?

Just bought a Rover 216 cab 1.6 gti on a L reg (94) and the car had been left standing for 18 months, having serious problems when i try to start it (no function and the horn goe's mental - imobaliser problem i think but don't know what to do - any answers

Firstly, when you hook the battery up, use the keys to lock and unlock the door from the OUTside - This will disable the alarm and the immobiliser.

At that point, you should be able to start the car!
