On my Amilo, there were TWO screws underneath that needed to be removed in order to slide out the DVD drive. The second proved rather elusive to find, as it didn't look at all near the CD drive. But, after finding it, it was actually super easy to see, as both screws had a picture of a CD next to them. (Only found it though, after removing ALL the screws underneath!)

It turned out to be easy - a clip in plastic fascia plate and two screws to be removed.
Lever off the fascia plate that holds the power switch - I used a screw driver blade between the F7 and F8 keys. This reveals a screw head that holds the keyboard in place. remove the screw and lift up the keyboard. Immediately to the right of the keyboard ribbon cable connector to the motherboard is a screw that is holding the DVD drive in place. Remove this screw and then the DVD drive should slide out to the right side of the laptop.
