when my washer agitates it makes a whining sound?

The whining sound can only come from two parts 1 is the drum the other the motor but hard to tell without hearing you can put hand in empty drum reach to top and try lift drum from inside if it lifts slightly with no weight resistance drum bearing has gone or spin drum slowly by hand if you hear similar grinding sound again drum bearing these cost about 30 pound its normally that not motor
