how can i fix my miele prestige dishwasher?

the drain/ inlet light is on and the dishwasher is full of water. i don't have a manual as it is second hand. what i would like to know is can i unblock it myself or do i need an engineer?

Switch the machine on.
Turn dial to top,if it has a dial,or press & HOLD the start button(depends on model number)
Select any programme.
Press start.
Listen......it should then drain the water out for approx 30s.
If it does, then the drainage is ok.
If it doesn't then the drainage is blocked somewhere.
Let it run.
If the light comes on again....it can be one of MANY problems.
