How to fix squeaky wash & rinse cycle on Hoover top loader?
I have a Hoover 820 top loading washing machine (now 25 years old) - it has just started squeaking all the way through the wash & the rinse cycles. (The spin cycle is fine). How can I fix this - or might this be a terminal squeak?
We found the bearing was slipping on the shaft of the main motor. Could just need a grub screw tightening. Otherwise check that the belt may be slipping and may need replacing. Both these should be accessible from bottom of machine, no need to take off the front.
