Mend Philips DTR200/05 Working Front Flashing

Philips DTR200/05 stopped working?

This has been working ok for several months then one morning I noticed the LED on the front was flashing and I was unable to receive any channels. The strange thing is a friend lent me the same model and that is exactly the same. I have a Sony receiver that works fine so it is not the ariel.
Any ideas
