how can i fix my vauxhall astra van?

my 1.7 td astra van on a p reg with 165000 on the clock suddenly started to misfire when pulling away from traffic lights also smoking quite a lot and loss of power, checked the basic e.g oil level water everything was fine could some one please help out and give some helpfull advice. thanks chris
