Mend Hoover Mach 3.3 Wind Tunnel

Hoover Mach 3.3 wind tunnel?

The vaccuum cleaner shuts off after a few minutes of vaccuming, sometimes 10 or 20 minutes other times quicker. Area by filter is very warm to the touch. What can be causing this?

i had it plugged into an extension, and pulled the vaccum cord out of the etension, and when i put it back in it stopped working. plugged it into wall with no luck.
switch on top clicks when i move it up and down, but no juice.

wiring has frayed and broken at the exit point on the motor housing. How can I open the housing to rewire it??
