Smeg SpA 42016 element?

Hi,

The main oven is not heating up, the fan is working and the thermastate light its on. There was a bang and a flash after the oven had been on for 10 mins. Think its probably the heating element, may be an internal fuse?. Any idea how to change the element? Any other ideas.

i have a smeg spa 42016 electric oven and need to buy a door seal for it but every web site i go on does not state this model - what should i be typing in - it is the single oven and the door seal is a clip on one

hi the large side of the oven has stopped working the smaller side still works any ideas of how to find and fix the problem thanks

The repair is as simple as stated in first reply, internal panel may need to be removed as well according to model. Spares site on http://www.smeg-service.co.uk sells genuine smeg elements from as little as £19 according to model. In some cases an additional pair of bolts at 10p each may be needed if your element is not held in with screws (some older elements have the screwed threads welded to the element). My SMKuk61MFX cooker's element has just done 7 years before going bang.

Sorted out myself, easy, took back off cooker, there are two nuts holding the element in and 3 wires. Bought a new one hoover not smeg, cost about £50. Good as new.
