hi,
this happened to me and i replaced the brushes on the motor - not to do it yourself but if you want to have a go, supply the make and model of your machine to your local repair shop and get a new pair of carbon brushes.
Easy enough to fix yourself but observe usual safety precautions like unplugging machine before attempting repair.
search the net for your make and model if you are not sure, step by step instructions are normally posted on the net somewhere.
