how do i replace the bearing kit of the drum of a hoover 1100?

i need to know do i need to take the whole drum out to change the bearing kit.

depends how old it is, if it is one with the metal backplate you can remove it from the rear if it is a split drum forget it it's an engineers job if you need to know how to do the rear backplate one repost and I will take you through it
