Mend Frigidaire 10 Machine Starts

Frigidaire W/D stackable Model # MLCE52RCS1?

10 yr. old machine that starts shaking when it goes into the spin cycle and during the cycle itself. I'm also having a difficult timetrying to pop off the top section so i can get the front panel to come off to access the unit.(There is no back panel access to this machine!) Any idea's so i can get a look at this thing??

I'm having the same problem, and had the same problem. Go to the back of the machine. There are two hex screws attaching the lid to two insert brackets. Once the screws are out, the lid should slide out--the little brackets should come right out too. Then go around to the front of the machine and you take off the two screws at the top of the front (inside, on either side), then lift the side vertically, and I think you'll have sucess. What I have discovered my similar sounding problem to be is the leveler has bent. It couldn't handle the overloading, I guess. I'm going to get a new spring (AP2147314) and leveler (AP2147315)...but haven't entirely made my mind up whether or not to replace both of the base units---parts AP2147316. If the weight has been undistributed, and there is any detectable deformity ( and even if it isn't detectable, it could be a problem), it might be a good idea to replace all the bases and leveler. The stress seen by the other two 'legs' as a result of the off balance rotation due to one may cause a second failure down the road in the over stressed part and then you'd be back where you are today. It's about $300 in parts, and so far I haven't found anyone who has it in stock. AppliancePartPros.com can order them in a few days....oh. When you take off the lid, be sure to disconnect the electrical connection to remove the lid--the plastic part on the wiring comes apart.
