I replaced battery in Peugeot 306 key fob but it won't work still?

The battery in my Peugeot 306 key was dead so I have replaced it and I followed the instructions to turn the engine off, and on, then press the button etc, but it still doesnt work.

Any ideas why it wouldnt be working still?

I found this post while trying to sort mine kept trying this one key I always use .But make sure you use original key and it worked put in key turn on ignition hold lock button for couple secs indicators should flash then should be ok . Key i was using was corroded a bit inside still can't get to work

I've tried reprogramming my 2 button key (t reg 2.0 xsi pug . But the button as u say doesn't keep flashing wen u push and hold it . Please help , the probs I got on top is car doesnt start just cranks over , had fuel put new coil pack in , no sparks and fuel pump doesn't seem to be working

306 PLIP RE-SYNCHING (For RF models only)

For late RF model keys if your remote should stop working (due to changing the battery or pressing the remote too many times out of range) you can try re-synchronising it by doing the following (note - must be original fob supplied with vehicle):

1.Switch off the ignition

2. Switch on the ignition

3. Immediately after switching on the ignition, press the large remote button

4. The remote should now be working again.

If your remote has 1 button then:
Unlock driver's door with ignition key.
Press and hold lock/unlock button until LED stops flashing.
Release lock/unlock button.
LED remains illuminated.
Press lock/unlock button LED goes out.
Enter vehicle.
Hold remote against ignition switch.
Press lock/unlock button .
Switch ignition ON.
Wait 10 seconds.
Switch ignition OFF.
Wait 5 seconds.
Synchronization procedure complete.
Confirm synchronization has been successful by locking and unlocking vehicle.
If you have 2 buttons then:
Unlock driver's door with ignition key.
Press and hold lock/unlock button. LED flashes.
Wait for 20 seconds then press double locking button.
LED stops flashing.
Release lock/unlock button.
LED remains illuminated.
Press lock/unlock button. LED goes out.
Enter vehicle.
Hold remote against ignition switch.
Press lock/unlock button.
Switch ignition ON.
Wait 10 seconds.
Switch ignition OFF.
Wait 5 seconds.
Synchronization procedure complete.
Confirm synchronization has been successful by locking, double locking and unlocking vehicle.
