Peugeot 206-Spare keys not working!!?

I have 2 sets of keys for it for my Peugeot 206
Tried to use the spare keys and they wouldnt work.....central locking wouldn't work and the key wouldn't work in the door either So couldn't get into it

I'm thinking of 3 reasons why this has happened:
1. The battery has gone in the set of keys
2. The keys aren't programmed properly to the car
Or 3. The keys dont belong to my car(bought the car second hand before Xmas)

Anyone have any ideas??

hi there if the key doesnt open the car manually then it is not the key for that car,

To replace the battery in the remote, remove the screw then unclip the casing using a coin at the ring. The battery is a CR2016 3 volt battery and I think I bought my last one from Sainsburys, but most places that sell batteries should have them e.g. Wilkinsons. Should only cost a quid or two. Your Peugeot dealer would sell them of course, and should be able to change it for you if you're not confident enough.

If the remote control does not work after the battery has been changed, reprogramme the remote control:-
a. Switch off the ignition.
b. Switch the ignition on again.
c. Press button A. (The bigger of the 2 buttons that you normally press to lock the car.)
d. Switch off the ignition and remove the remote control key from the ignition lock. It should now be working again.
