How do i know cooker element has gone ?

yes, if everything else works apart from the oven, then the element has gone. My Baumatic fan oven element has also died so I'm just going to order a replacement element. There are lots of companies selling spare elements on the net, just need to enter your oven model number.
It isn't particularly hard to change the element over yourself but it depends on how confident you are with that kinda stuff. Alternatively a kitchen appliance engineer would be able to repair it. Best of luck with it!
