How can I Clean Hoover Performa Washing Machine Filter?

My hoover performa eco 1200 won't turn or spin - an earlier question on the topic said to "clean the filter" - where is the filter and how does one clean it? I didn't even know they had one!

the most likely fault is the motor brushes

found the filter & there was nothing wrong with it - grrr. haven't checked the motor brushes, will try that next - i get the feeling there might be an electrical fault though.

don't know the model but if it has one it could be under the bottom kick strip allso have you checked the moter brushes?
