moved in to new home ,got no alarm code and its also buzzing can i reset ?

I recently moved into my new home and found out that it had a house alarm. I wasnt given the code and therefore decideded to just forget about it. But i leant on it the other day whilst removing my shoes and an alarm sounded. WIth a bit of research i think i may have set the tamper alarm off. Ive removed the wire going to the bell but the control panel is still buzzing and i need to code to stop it coz its driving me nuts.
