I have a Homelite XL12 / 16" chain saw. It is about 30 years old. What should the fuel mixture be for a saw this old?

Yes, Gordon is correct. 4oz 2 stroke oil to 1 gallon gas (32-1). or 120ml to 3.8 litres in metric.
