What's wrong with my boiler?

I have an old baxi wm 531 rs boiler that will now not fire up.
The pilot will light & stay lit but not the boiler.

I've been told it might be gas control valve but would appreciate anyones opinion,who knows a bit more about boilers than i do, before i spend best part of £100 on a unnecessary new part.
