Singer Sewing Machine - 'Starlet'?

Hi Ken
I have an old Singer Starlet (Foot Pedal Cat No. CR307 - Part No. 988274-051) sewing machine but I had lost the instruction manual many years ago. Now I've finally motivated myself and set time aside to take up sewing again, only to discover the boopin is not moving around so that the needle can pick up on the thread through the slot.
Can you help with a manual on this brand and model (ancient, I know!) also on how to fix the boppin - if that's the problem.
Much appreciated.
Thank you

Jenny :)

Your question was posted some months ago .. but I just found this ..
I found a link that actually sells manuals .. on it you'll find http://www.sewingonline.co.uk/instructions/singerstarlet/

There is the photo of the actual manual .. just like mine.
Anyway, there are little arrows below it, allowing you to scroll through. (Wasn't actually able to see the manual free or otherwise from the list of them, but then maybe it's known as a NUMBER as well as by the 'Singer Starlet' tag ..

Anyway, back to those arrows.
I went SLOWLY through them all (57 pages) and was able to view the manual ..

Jenny, I have one as well. Would you like me to photocopy the manual, or have you found one for youself? Don't know how long ago you wrote the request! Claudia wildrovers@tiscali.co.uk

Hello Jenny,
When you look at the bobbin case area and you turn the balance wheel, does the raceway move? that is the part that the bobbin case sits in, the bobbin case itself does not move so don't be confused, if the raceway is moving and the machine is not picking up the thread the first thing to do is change the needle and make sure the flat side is facing the back of the machine, it only has to be slightly bent and it will miss stiches, should not get any major problems with that model, if you do you can e-mail me at drivewithken@blueyonder.co.uk make sure you mention your model again because I get a lot of sewing machine questions, I don't go back to old questions on this site to see if there are any answers. I will find a site that has a book.
