How can I fix my Maytag PYE2300 Dryer?

For starters, there is a service manual pamphlet inside the back metal cover (shiny metal about 5" x 24") of the control panel. To open the dryer, take a flat head screw driver and push in on the two metal tabs that attach the top of the dryer to the front of the dryer just above the door. They are located about 4" from the outboard sides of the dryer. Once you pop those tabs loose, the dryer top tilts up and out of the way. Be careful not to rest the whole weight of the top on the plastic control panel, it will break. Once inside, there are two screws at the top of the front panel (on the inside, of course) take out those screws and the whole front panel comes off. You now have full access to the drum and the belt. Good Luck.
