Mend Zanussi Jetsystem Washing Machine Error Code Drain Pump

Zanussi Jetsystem error e40?

Can’t find the manual anywhere but someone has told me that E40 is a pump/ Drain problem.
Filter trap clear, pipe work and drain clear.!!!

When you select any cycle the door locks and unlocks two or three times then the machine displays the error. Could this be a dodgy door catch or is this a symptom of the drain pump going/ gone ?

Confused and Manuel-less

I have an Zanssui 1446 washing machine, today the display started blinking E40 and beeping (annoyingly)

E40 error code is definitly a door situation. After lub-spray, and slaming several times without wanted result I unscrewed the door switch which is fasted with two phillips screws.... this component and its wire connections were fried black. OUT OF ORDER ! I will try to get replacment components on the guarentee as this is not a very old machine.

Thanks for that just tried spraying all the buttons with wd40 cleared the filter nothing worked (cant find manual)
Then read this message re- door catch. Opened and pushed shut again and bingo its working. Just saved myself a few hundred pounds as I was ready to buy another in the morning....

I tried various things with no success. Then I pressed the reset button and that cleared the error!

OK managed to fix it with superb help from Washaman on the Ezee-fix.co.uk board.

Long story short: machine was displaying door interlock error, interlock was in fact ok, a wire from the interlock to the vacuum unit had broken – re-soldered connection and everything was working again.
