how can i fix my back boiler?

Baxi Bermuda 401, I have a one of these back boilers and I am having problems with the heating and water, the pilot light was off and we found this out as we had no heating although the lights were on on the control panel. We relit the pilot light and are not sure is the water is working as there would have still be hot water in the tank. But the heating still won't come on, the pilot light is on, please help we are freezing and have two small children and don't know what to do. Many thanks

you haven't included what model the boiler is, e.g 401,45/3,45/4 etc. if the pilot stays on until the main burner lights the problem is probably a partialy blocked pilot (401) or additionaly if its a 45/3 or 4 it could be the pilot monitoring tube or pilot ASD partially blocked, in any case you must understand that the pilot is not there just to light the burner, it is a safety device and could be an indication that there is a serious problem with the boiler or flueing or ventilation problem.
