Mend Hoover 1200 SE220 Spin Machine

Hoover 1200 SE220 fails to spin?

My hoover 1200 SE220 washing machine runs ok untill it should spin.
The washing machine drum does not turn and the pump is running which I assume is removing the water. No water is left in the drum but the cloths are very wet.

hi,my hoover 1200 se 220 will not spin.it is also sticking on some of the wash cycles and it is filling and emptying at the same time. can anybody help.it is 7 years old.i have checked the brushes on the motor and there is about an inch of carbon left on them.does the motor work the same principle as an alternator on an engine and if so would ther be any point in removing the motor and cleaning it ??
