Mend Briggs & Stratton 14.5 OHV VC Starter Good

How can I fix my 14.5 Briggs& Stratton Mower?

My lawn mower has a new battery and starter, but it still drags and acts like they are no good? What should I do? It's a 42inch cut 14.5 OHV VC commercial riding lawnmower engine. I also added a coil and carburater, but it spits back through the carburater and pops.

Sounds like ignition timing is too far advanced ie the spark plug is firing too soon when the inlet valve is open. This would cause the popping and flat battery effects you describe. You need to get info on checking the ignition timing. Other possibility is that the inlet valve is leaking.
