new relay PCB board about £15 plus delivery ) - bit of a pig to get at as its screwed in form the front of the machine -
UNPLUG THE MACHINE FROM THE WALL - it hurts when you touch a timer and the case !!!!!- still remember the feeling 21 years on
After you have removed the lid ( 3 screws at rear ) - remove the 4 screws at the front underneath side - remove the screws around the drum ( door has to be open ( you dont need to take the door hinge screws off )
remove the screws around the top housieng holding the plastic molding in and - remove the timer nob - pops off - then push the facier to the right to unclip
then gently push the front casing down in fron of the PCB location you can just get at the 2 screws holsing the PCB assembly to the casing -
you could try thi without undoing anything but if you snap the facia casing you wished you had spent that extra 10 mins on 15 screws
( TAKE A PICTURE OF THE WIRING or draw one )
replace with new one reconnect ( i have screwed it back in place from the inside of the machine )
check all the wires are connect ( inc timer as you may have knocked a wire as it is easy to knock a spade of the timer )
do a test prior to screwing it all back togethor bobs your uncle
you could just buy the relay and replace on the board - but for the cost and time go for the ready built one
the relay is a tyco RT314024 if your interested
