I will see my chain is loose, stop cutting and adjust as usual then after a few minutes I see the chain is loose again. OVER and OVER again. Sears says it is OK. They obviously don't cut with it. I have dis-assembled the bar and chain, re assembled while very carefully following the manual to no avail. What can I do? The warranty date has expired due to an extended illness.
This is a Craftsman Chain Saw model # 358.350870 toolless chain tensioner
I have had the same problem the saw has only been used twice and the chain is always loose and the pull cord does not want to retract on its own. Needs a little smack on the side for it to retract. The only thing that I'm like about this saw is that I didn't buy it my brother did. My little echo works way better but its only a 12" bar so I borrowed the Crapsman and well you just read how that went.
