Craftsman 55cc mod 316.350840 chain saw won't start?

unit last ran fine 4 wks ago. Changed blade, plug, cleaned air filter, tightened muffler & now doesn't start. put new fuel/oil in & have new fuel filter ordered. after setting for a day, engine seems to fire on several strokes on 1st pull. After that nothing. plug seems fairly dry after trying to start. fuel cap seems to have excessive pressure now when opening.
Any ideas wold be most appreciated & thanks

Yes, fuel was fresh mixed from the pump. Could the carb be plugged

You say NEW fuel, Thats in the m/c. BUT was it NEW fuel, petrol goes off, could be 4 wks ago just on point, now over. Needs to be fresh fuel, from the pump.
