Mend Dyson DC07 Work Minutes Left

How can I fix my Dyson DC07?

My Dyson, which is about 6 years old, will only work for about 5 minutes and then cuts out. When left for more than 1 hour or so it will work again but only for about 5 minutes.

I have an identical problem sheila - same model, same age to. I have cleaned all filters and there are no blockages but with no improvement whatsoever. I reckon the main motor is faulty and overheating but i'm no expert!
