cleaner won't suck up the dirty water into the tank?

i have recently had the same problem. the cleaning wand will extract the solution but the upright is very low on suction. i have ordered a new gasket that goes around the water tank and the front piece that is reponsible for suctioning the water out of the carpet. the long black gasket beween the two can really slow or even stop the suction if there is not an air tight fit. hope that might be helpful
