engine management light on a vw golf?

My 06 golf 2.0 tdi engine management light came on says turbo charger on reader but drives an pull fine any ideas

I have a golf III gl 2.0, automatic transmission, but it has a hard start and also takes long to change gears especially the third gear. This happened after i took it to the washing bay to clean the engin. Even wen i step hard on the gas to instigate gear engagment, rpm goes above 3k and keeps raisin, well the speed seems good, but the sound is nasty. Some help.

I bought a mk 4 gti golf 3 days ago 2002 plate after purchasing the car it all seemed fine . 5 mins down the road after leaving car came up stop .. cheek coolant . pulled into a garage filled up petrol and water as was low , topped it up . another 10 mins on motor way came up again , pulled over and again water was empty but this time lot more coming out . (finally got it home ) someone looked at it , told me put some radwell in ,, did it stopped the leak .. tested car all seemed fine later that night engine management light has came on ? any ideas plz ?

exhaust gas recirculation come up on computer but car is driving 100% but engine management light is on but was told it might be egr valve, but it also mighten be the problem any advice

the check light come on on a golf gti x reg 2.0 8 valve and it came up lamba sensor and replace 2 sensor and the light still stay on and the reading fault still say lamba sensor as it been replace what it mean ? faulty ecu or ?

My 2.0 VW 05 engine light sometimes stays shows on thw dash board when i switch the car on and remains on all the time while im driving. At times when i start the car nothing shows up but whilst im driving it starts to flash and says engine fault see garage. When this happens the car loses speed and struggles . I have taken it to many garges but no one can diagnose the poblem anyone help..

I have a vw golf 1.4 the engine light came on last month and my garage have put a new egr valve air flow meter and catalitic converter into it and the light is still on. Anybody have any ideas what could be wrong? Any help would be much appriciated.

my engine light has been on for months, ive had it turned off but comes back on and stays on. The car has past its mot and drives fine. What could it be? Should i take it too a volkwagen mechanic or could it be something simple?

Lots of areas are monitored by the engine management system, some of them are not apparent to anyone just driving the car, and usually they are not immediately terminal (which is why the light is yellow and not red). However they can get worse and should be checked as soon as possible. The following tells you a bit about engine managemnt systems and how to read codes/ reset them.

The 'Engine Management Light' come on if the automatic monitoring system detects a malfunction in (usually) the powertrain components of the vehicle. If the fault has been fixed, then what you need to do to put the light out is:-

1 Disconnect the battery.
2 Reconnect the battery – this resets the engine management to its base configuration.At this stage, if you start the car up the Light will still be on and will stay on until the monitoring system has completed a series of tests some of which depend upon the car being operated under various normal driving conditions. Typically this will take about 20 minutes of normal driving. If all the tests are within spec then the light will go out and you will be back on the road!

If the fault persists then you have a specific problem. You will either need to take it to a dealer who will be able to read the codes and fix the problem (lots of dosh outlay I suspect). If you are reasonably confident you could buy a code reader to find out the problem for yourself. Gendan are currently selling theirs for £39.95 free pp which covers all post 2001 petrol and post 2004 diesel cars. Note if you reset using a code reader you still have to go through the 20 minute drive process before you are “back in business”.

You need a VW code reader to identify the fault.It could be anything.Mine was a catalytic converter fault.

I have had the same problem with my X reg golf 2.0. The light kept on coming on but the car was driving fine. The dealer i bought it from has a diagnostic kit that tells you what is wrong and it was saying miss fire on 4. I have cleaned the contacts up and its working fine the light has not been on since. I believe golfs have a coil for each cylinder and these can be easily replaced and cost approx £25 each. If you dont notice any difference when driving try cleaning the contacts to the cylinders

engine lighta are mainly caused by air floe sensors, well in the cases where the car still drivers perfectly, just try cleaning the sensor,
