any ideas on my skoda fabia?

my epc and engine warning lights come on intermittently. sometimes, in a traffic queue, (when the warning lights are on ), it has just "died". switched off, switched on again and it started no problem. but i am also getting "kicks" as it is changing gear. It has had the diagnostics and nothing is showing. any ideas please.
